Calming Teething Gummies.

Teething is no joke. But, if you’re an alternative medicine mumma like me, Panadol or pharmaceutical treatment is definitely not your first option.
These gummies offer a natural, soothing option for teething discomfort, with calming and anti-inflammatory effects from the chamomile and calendula, combined with the gentle relief provided by the gummy's chewable texture.

Chamomile has an active compound, apigenin, which binds to specific receptors in the brain that may help promote relaxation and reduce pain. This can be particularly soothing for a teething baby, as it helps to ease discomfort and promote better sleep.
Calendula has natural anti-inflammatory and healing properties, largely due to the presence of triterpenoidsand flavonoids. When ingested, calendula can help reduce swelling and irritation in the gums, making it a gentle remedy for teething discomfort.
The gelatin base of the gummies is rich in collagen, which supports healthy tissue and may aid in soothing irritated gums by creating a protective barrier. Plus, the texture of the gummies can provide a satisfying chew that may offer additional relief.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of water

  • 2 tbsp loose leaf chamomile tea

  • 1 tbsp loose leaf calendula tea

  • 3 tbsp grass-fed gelatin

Instructions:

  1. Boil 2 cups of filtered water. Remove from heat and add the chamomile and calendula loose leaf teas.

  2. Let the tea steep for about 10 minutes, then strain the leaves out.

  3. Pour 1 cup of the brewed tea into a small pot. Sprinkle the gelatin over the tea and let it bloom for about 5 minutes. This helps the gelatin dissolve smoothly.

  4. After the gelatin has bloomed, gently heat the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin is fully dissolved. Avoid boiling.

  5. Pour the mixture into a glass container or gummy moulds. Place the molds in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until the gummies are fully set.

  6. Once set, pop the gummies out of the molds. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
